Analog vs. Digital

One question that comes up over and over is Analog vs. Digital?

Our answer?  Both.

We think you should use the best tools available for capturing audio and each format has it's pro's and con's.  Analog tape machines are on the way out. Don't doubt it. Tape costs and the amount of maintenance required means only the most boutique studios will continue to offer Analog tape in the next few years. All of that extra cost gets passed down to the client.

Digital is cheaper and completely reliable but a lot of people think it sounds cold or sterile. Its' a viewpoint with which we often agree!

But we've got the solution figured out.  We track everything through our vintage Analog MCI console before it goes to Pro-Tools. This gives our tracks that analog flavor we've all grown to love combined with the reliability and editing power of Pro-Tools. We've also got a rack full of analog gear we rely on to get those tracks to sound just right.

    No cold tracks here!
